Rice is Viet Nam's primary food. Viet Nam is third in the world as an exporter of rice and almost 80% of the country's population is involved in the rice industry. The majority of rice is grown in paddies in the Mekong Delta, though paddies are present throughout the country. Most of the production of the rice industry is done by manual and animal labor.
